Your mission
As Team Lead Insurance, you will take on the technical and disciplinary leadership of a motivated team of two employees and be fully responsible for the insurance management of Berger Logistik GmbH. You will optimize our international insurance portfolio, minimize risks, and ensure professional and efficient claims handling – thereby making a significant contribution to the company’s economic security and sustainable growth.
  • Technical and disciplinary leadership, coaching, and development of a motivated insurance team
  • Strategic management and continuous development of the entire insurance portfolio (transport, liability, fleet, and corporate insurance)
  • Negotiation, structuring, and optimization of insurance contracts with national and international insurers and brokers
  • End‑to‑end management of claims handling – from loss notification and settlement to prevention of consequential damages
  • Conducting risk analyses and developing measures to minimize risks across all logistics operations
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, compliance regulations, and internal governance standards related to insurance
  • Close collaboration with internal departments (Operations, Finance, Legal) as well as external partners and key accounts
  • Proactive optimization and further development of insurance processes through digitalization and data‑driven approaches
  • Reporting to the Executive Management and active involvement in budget planning and cost optimization

Your Profile
  • Completed degree (e.g. Business Administration, Law, Risk Management) or a comparable qualification with a focus on insurance
  • Several years of professional experience in insurance management, ideally within the logistics, freight forwarding, or transport industry
  • Initial leadership experience and a strong interest in developing teams
  • In‑depth knowledge of transport and liability insurance law as well as claims management
  • Business‑fluent English skills; additional languages are an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and a hands‑on mentality
  • High level of service and solution orientation combined with strong communication skills at all levels
  • Confident handling of MS Office; experience with insurance or risk management software is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings with insurers or company locations

For this position, the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics Industry applies. The actual salary will be market‑competitive and significantly above the collective agreement minimum, depending on qualifications and experience.
